Mostly unrelated: I just realized that Peter Snejbjerg has a wikipedia page in English (of course!) but not in Danish!!! Gah!
I am so sick of the Danish Wikipedia, it’s embarrassing – people don’t seem to care, huh?
Same with Wiktionary, Danish has 7220 words… which is a ridiculously small amount, actually it’s so small that it makes the Danish wiktionary completely useless.

Holy moly! That’s some naivitivity scene!
Quick translate:
Iso III ~ Large beer (mid-strength)
Lonkero ~ Finnish word for any bottled mixture of booze and soda.
*ssu (= kossu = koskenkorva), the quintessential Finnish booze, made from industrial-strength alcohol diluted with spring water, to which is added 3 grams of sugar per liter, real fancy stuff, eh?)

I think the 24h session was held at the Maison des auteurs (official artists’ residence) in the days leading up to the festival, rather than during, but I may be wrong. Regardless, it is pretty cool!

Ach, ‘not available in my country’ — Kemp has really gone all out in favor of that drawing, and has been joined by a number of other respected scholars, but I still find it hard to believe.

Not having seen it in person and not having seen Kemp’s Sforza manuscript put to the test, I obviously can’t say, but the drawing just doesn’t look right to me. And this is without even going into the differences in medium from any other drawing by him, the total lack of provenance, and the fact that a notorious fraud was involved in authenticating it via “fingerprints.”

Somebody pointed out how she looks like Kirsten Dunst, suggesting that it’s a fake. I’m not sure about that, but the observation catches something about the uneasiness I have about it.

I have nothing but respect for Kemp, and it *is a pretty drawing, but it just seems to me a little too good to be true.

Just saw a “Nova” (public television) episode the other week about the Principessa drawing and the attempts to authenticate it. Really fascinating. And a beautiful drawing regardless.
